COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina Manufacturers and Commerce President and CEO Sara Hazzard today released the following statement celebrating the passage of the SCDOT Modernization bill (S. 831):
“We are excited to see another commitment to strong roads and bridges, as well as SCDOT modernization, become reality. Our members have been proud champions – alongside the governor, legislative leadership, and lawmakers – of making smart investments in SCMC priorities like infrastructure today so that we are even more competitive as a state tomorrow. This commitment to faster project delivery strengthens South Carolina’s foundation for long-term economic development success and serves as an important reminder that our best days are ahead.”
In April, SCMC led 33 local chambers of commerce and business associations – representing tens of thousands of employers and hundreds of thousands of employees across South Carolina – in support of the bill.
