Another week flew by in Columbia, and SCMC was there, speaking up with One Voice for our members.
We proudly welcomed SCMC members KRJ Consulting, Snelling Staffing Services and TRC Talent Solutions to the State House. They testified on Thursday morning in support of small business tax relief – an SCMC priority – because tax relief makes our members, and our entire state, more competitive. We thank all three of these invaluable SCMC members for showing up and being heard.
SCMC also joined so many around the State House – and South Carolina – to celebrate Governor Henry McMaster’s ninth and final State of the State address. Governor McMaster, the longest serving chief executive in state history, recounted his long list of economic development achievements during his address to the General Assembly.
SCMC President and CEO Sara Hazzard said, “A champion for the business community, Governor McMaster has attracted record investment, announced record job growth and partnered with our members to lay a strong foundation for economic prosperity. But, as we heard tonight, his work isn’t finished. For that, we are thankful, and we look forward to fighting alongside Governor McMaster this year as he continues to build on this foundation and pushes toward the finish line.”
We owe Governor McMaster a debt of gratitude for his many years of dedicated public service.
