(Columbia, SC) – South Carolina Manufacturers and Commerce (SCMC) officially kicked off its fifth annual Manufacturing Madness competition during which the people of South Carolina choose the Coolest Thing Made in SC.
This statewide, bracket-style contest showcases the innovation and impact of South Carolina’s manufacturing industry and invites the public to vote for their favorite SC-made products.
BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is the contest sponsor.
“We are more excited than ever to kick off the fifth straight Manufacturing Madness competition,” said SCMC President and CEO Sara Hazzard. “There is no better way for our members, their teams, and the people who use products made right here in our own backyard to celebrate what manufacturing means to South Carolina. Manufacturing Madness puts a spotlight on the industry’s role in driving economic power. In SCMC’s inaugural year, which has so many people talking around South Carolina, it is especially meaningful to celebrate the products and people who make all of this possible.”
Since launching in 2022, Manufacturing Madness has attracted more than 750,000 from the general public. Previous winners include:
- 2025 – High Noon Sun Sips, Gallo (Fort Lawn)
- 2024 – The Talon, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. South Carolina Manufacturing (Timmonsville)
- 2023 – The F-16 Fighting Falcon, Lockheed Martin (Greenville)
- 2022 – Steel, Nucor Steel Berkeley (Huger)
Nominations are open now at www.scmanufacturingmadness.com and run through February 19. Any product manufactured in South Carolina is eligible.
2026 Contest Timeline:
- February 9 – 19: Nominations open
- February 23 – 26: Popular voting
- March 2 – 5: Top 16 bracket voting
- March 9 – 12: Top 8 bracket voting
- March 16 – 19: Top 4 bracket voting
- March 24: Winner announced at the State House with Governor Henry McMaster
