COLUMBIA, SC – South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance President and CEO Sara Hazzard issued the following statement in honor of National Textile Day on Saturday, May 3, 2025:
“The legacy of South Carolina’s textile industry has touched thousands of families, generating an untold number of jobs across our state, and that legacy lives on today through the work of great corporate citizens like Greenwood Mills, Hamrick Mills, Inman Mills, Milliken & Company, Sage Automotive Interiors, and many others.
“Textile manufacturers – who are the foundation of American manufacturing – have made significant contributions to the United States military and our national defense, and these advanced, high-tech manufacturing operations are an essential part of South Carolina’s economic fabric. The resilient and innovative workforce of these great American institutions make them the envy of our neighbors because they know our hardworking textile industry employees are second-to-none.
“We are not only proud of South Carolina’s textile manufacturers – and the products they make right here in our backyard for partners across the world – we are excited for the role they continue to play in the economic growth of our state.
