It’s been a productive week for the SCMC team as we connected with business and policy leaders from across the country.

I had the opportunity to represent SCMC at the 2026 Conference of State Manufacturers Associations (COSMA), which brings together manufacturers’ associations to discuss the industry’s most pressing challenges. Meanwhile, our Vice President of Government Affairs, Will Frierson, attended the 2026 NCSL Legislative Summit, where legislators and legislative staff from every state and U.S. territory gathered to exchange ideas and discuss policy priorities.

These national connections strengthen our ability to advocate on your behalf and advance policies that support South Carolina’s business community. We are bringing those conversations and insights home as we continue working to move the Palmetto State forward.

1. Remembering Senator Lindsey Graham
This week, South Carolina said goodbye to Senator Lindsey Graham, whose lifetime of service left an indelible mark on our state, nation, and world. From serving in the military and Statehouse to representing our state in Congress and the U.S. Senate, he remained steadfast in his commitment to the people he served. The state’s business community joins countless others in mourning his passing and honoring his extraordinary legacy. His leadership and lasting impact will be deeply missed.

2. ICYMI: SCMC Announces South Carolina Business Week Scholarship Recipients
